Our Members

Our members live and work predominantly in and around Ayrshire. They represent public and private organisations such as local authorities, construction, commercial, manufacturing and specialist consultants.

Many members are full-time health and safety specialists, but ASG also welcome anyone who has a keen interest in health and safety matters, such as Business Leaders, HR Professionals and Facility Managers.

Our Meetings

To promote the very best occupational health and safety standards, we organise monthly meetings from September to May. At the meetings, a guest speaker will present their ideas and experiences on a topic of current interest. This is followed by an opportunity for the audience to reflect and explore the presented concepts.

During the year, one of the meetings will involve a visit to a local organisation. This is an opportunity to gain a practical insight into how they assess their risks and organise their safety management system.

In addition, there is ample opportunity for networking. Our members are usually open to sharing experiences and discussing challenging situations.

Continuing Professional Development

ASG offers excellent CPD opportunities and can help keep members informed on legislation changes and best practices. The Health and Safety Executive play an active role within the Group and attend a minimum of one meeting per year to offer a comprehensive update on the current climate and initiatives from an inspector’s perspective.
